Taco Pizza Homemade

Homemade Taco pizza is a popular fusion dish that combines the flavors of Mexican cuisine with the comfort of pizza. It is believed to have originated in the United States in the late 20th century. Some sources credit Taco Bell as the first restaurant to serve Taco pizza, while others suggest that it was created by independent pizzerias.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pizza crust (or homemade pizza dough)
  • 1/2 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 packet of taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup of salsa
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup of sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the taco seasoning mix to the skillet and stir to combine with the meat.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and place it on a greased pizza pan.
  5. Spread the tomato sauce and salsa over the pizza dough.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the sauce.
  7. Spread the cooked meat over the cheese.
  8. Add the diced tomatoes, black olives, and green onions on top of the meat.
  9. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  11. Drizzle the sour cream over the pizza and serve hot.
